CCSD Celebrates Employees with Second Annual Service Recognition Program
The Cherokee County School District recognizes employees’ important service to the community with the CCSD Milestones Service Awards.
The second annual program celebrates employees’ dedication to serving the community through their vocation. The idea for service milestone awards was proposed by a CCSD teacher and supported through funding from the Cherokee County Educational Foundation.
Last school year, every one of CCSD’s employees received a branded CCSD lanyard. All employees with more than 10 years of service additionally received a pin honoring their service milestone achievement: 10 years (400 employees), 15 years (1,000), 20 years (475), 25 years (200), 30 years (35) and 35 years (10). The pins were designed to be added to the lanyard but are a gift to the honoree to be worn or displayed in whichever way he or she chooses.
This fall, 426 employees who reached new milestones received new pins to recognize their dedication, including 11 new honorees for at least 30 years of service and four new honorees for at least 35 years of service. Schools and central office departments held special ceremonies to recognize employees with their service pins. Some also celebrated honorees with posts on social media, schoolwide announcements and other recognitions. New CCSD employees receive branded lanyards as part of their welcome to the district.
Employees who reached each of these service milestone levels are listed online here.
